James Oliver Olson

February 21, 1950 - June 7, 2021

Jim passed away quietly at home on Monday June 7 at the age of 71. He was born February 21, 1950 in Minneapolis, MN to Earl and Elsie Olson. He grew up in the Lake and Lyndale area of South Minneapolis and was the oldest of 3 children. At 16 he started as a stock clerk at National Tea Co and began a 50 plus year career in the grocery business rising to store manager when he retired. Never married he made his home in Brooklyn Park, MN where he liked to host BBQ’s for friends and family. His favorite past time was attending Twins baseball games and watching sports and old movies and sitcoms on TV. He loved to reminisce about family and friends, especially of his trips to other baseball stadiums. His friendly and generous manner will be greatly missed.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Elsie. Survived by brother William and wife Bonnie, niece Carisa, and nephew Andrew. Also survived by brother Paul, niece Lauren, and nephew Matthew as well as many other cousins and second cousins.

Memorial Service Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021 at 10:00am with visitation starting at 9:00am at Cremation Society of MN, 4343 Nicollet Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55409.

Interment to follow at Lakewood Cemetery, 3600 Hennepin Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55408 at 12:00 Noon.
