Bernard Koskovich

Obituary of Bernard Allen Koskovich

Dad passed away peacefully on May 25, 2021. He is survived by Yen Koskovich, children Tammy Olsen (Jonathan Baller), Christopher Koskovich, Stephanie Luehrs (Jacob), two grandchildren Garrett and Rayen Luehrs, and brother Jerome Koskovich (Nancy). He was preceded in passing by his parents; Esther and Edward Koskovich.

His smile could light up an entire room and his eyes often twinkled with a hint of mischievousness. He was an extraordinarily kind soul who took everyone at their word and was the first to offer help when needed. His positive attitude, and unshakeable faith in God, sustained him throughout his life. Never one to sit still for long, his preferred method of operation was to have many projects going at once but always made sure to find time to enjoy a Coke-a-Cola, or two, along the way.

Since 1975, his material pride and joy has been the iconic blue house, located Mankato’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, which he lovingly and painstakingly restored to its rightful glory. Family and friends kidded him that it only took him 42(ish) years to add a front door knob but this was a labor of love for him, a passion, and some things are definitely worth waiting for. Driven by his clear creative vision, and following his dreamer spirit, Dad used his remarkable artistry in woodworking to enlist family members, and our dearest family friend James Rassman, through countless hours of working and reworking every inch of the house until it was absolutely perfect, or as he might say; Outstanding or Nicely done!

Dad adored all things artistic including theater, ballet and classical music, which played 24/7 throughout the house. There were many a theater event which moved him to tears of joy. He loved his family fiercely and loved many friends just as much, you know who you are.

We will miss you Dad! We love you, so much!

A remembrance open house will be held from (time) on Saturday June 5th at the Cremation Society of MN – Brooklyn Park. 7835 Brooklyn Boulevard, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445
