Marcella Ione (Diment) Isackson was born July 19, 1943 in Alexandria, Minnesota to Morton and Ann Diment.

Marcy was baptized at West Moe Lutheran Church on August 8th, 1943. She graduated from Alexandria High School in 1961. She was confirmed in 1963 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lowry. Marcy was united in marriage to Arthur Isackson on August 31, 1963. They lived in the Twin Cities where Marcy was a bookkeeper at the Federal Reserve Bank. After the birth of their son, John, they moved to the family farm near Lowry. Once there, they had two more children, Julie and Joy.

Marcy was a loving, hard working wife and mother. She loved the outdoors. Marcy had a huge vegetable garden, beautiful flower beds, chickens, cats and dogs. She loved to walk in the woods, write poetry, do research on genealogy, play cards with friends, ride in the tractor with Art, spend time with her two grandchildren, attend the county and state fairs, watch birds at her feeders, read and listen to the radio. Marcy loved going to gardening and cooking classes. She was always ready for a challenging game of Scrabble or Boggle. Marcy was well known as a great cook and baker. From her rhubarb desserts, hearty soups, apple pies, awesome sweets, lefse or mashed potatoes and roast, you always knew you were welcome to join in a meal.

For many years Marcy drove the Garfield school bus and worked at the Alexandria ASCF office. She held offices in Sons of Norway and the cemetary committee. She enjoyed working on her class reunion committee and getting together with old friends.

Marcy was a strong believer in Christ. For many years she was a member of First Lutheran Church in Alexandria and later became a member of Saint Luke's in Garfield.
