Obituary of Michael Dean Wright
Michael Dean Wright, born October 28th, 1966 went home to be with Jesus on December 8th, 2020 with his beloved wife Lynn by his side holding him.
Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend to so many. Mike's greatest joy in life was enjoying every minute of his amazing life he worked so hard to build for himself and his family. He loved to laugh and be silly especially with his grandchildren he adored with all his heart.
Mike loved motorcycling whether it was just he and his wife, his recovery brothers and sisters, or traveling cross country, no matter the weather!! Mike loved hanging out with his children and grandchildren any chance he had also, whether it was playing or teaching them things he could. Mike was also a member of St. Paul HOG and enjoyed riding with other members or participating in events. Mike was also a big part of a large recovery community from up north to the cities. He loved helping others still suffering find the solution as as he had.
Mike was born in St. Paul, MN, and raised in Newport, MN, where he graduated from Woodburg High School in 1985. Mike was a top athlete in high school! He was captain of his football team and played safety, he rarely missed a tackle. Mike was also captain of his hockey team and played defenseman as #20. He was without a doubt an All Star Athlete! Mike was also Homecoming King of Woodbury Class of 1985. He also served in the United States Army from October 1985 to January 1989. Mike was an Army Infantry Specialist. He did basic training in Fort Benning Louis Washington. Mike was an extremely proud veteran.
Mike received his A.A.S. Degree with high honors in 2015 from Lake Superior College in Duluth, MN for civil engineer technician. Mike immediately accepted a job from the city of Inver Grove Heights as a civil engineer technician and absolutely loved his job from day one.
Mike was survived by his loving wife, Lynn Wright, mother, Gloria Wright, mother-in-law, LaVonn Miller and children, Beau Douglas, Miranda Katherine (Josh), Cody Hunter, Jessie Dean and Cheyen Lynn, grandcildren, Harli Jean, Annalise Scott, Avery Ann, Blake Thomas and Dallas Dean, brothers, Bob (Michelle) Wright, Scott Wright, sister, Patti (Bob) Wright, along with so many brothers and sisters in recovery. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Lorrie Wright and his brother, Alan Wright.
Mike’s legacy… How he treated people and the person he was and had become after recovery and centering his life with Jesus. Everyone who really knew Mike knew and loved the caring and amazing man he was and beyond loved and cherished him for it. Mike was the most kind, gentle, yet firm soul who lived life to the fullest and is so greatly missed! And although he may be gone, the impact he left on so many people is very significant in thousands of ways that add up to a lifetime of making the world better.
There will be a celebration of life with a memorial ride June 12th at 12:30pm for all family and friends to gather and give Mike his well deserved “ride”.
