Obituary of Lois Jane Nettleton

Lois Jane Nettleton, age 90, passed away peacefully March 4, 2021 of natural causes at Waterview Pines, Virginia, MN.  She was born May 17, 1930 in Brainerd Minnesota to Clifford and Esther Halverson.  She married Donald Nettleton in November of 1952, and they were married 49 years.

Lois graduated from Denfeld High School in 1949.  She went on to Duluth Business School and learned to operate comptometer (early mechanical computer).  Lois worked as needed during lean economic years in accounting positions at various Duluth businesses.  While she excelled at homemaking, gardening, and quilting, after raising her family she worked as a housekeeper at St Anne’s and St. Mary’s hospital. In her later years she loved attending luncheons with the Lois Club and services at the Cloquet Gospel Tabernacle.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Donald(2001), parents and three older brothers, Robert, Richard, and Wallace Halverson.  She is survived by sons David (Judy), Bruce (Nancy), daughter Linda (Alan) Baumgartner, grandchildren, Sherry(Rich) Orrison, Melissa(Alex) Petrov, June Cobo, David(Pamela Bigelow) Nettleton Jr, Amber(Tyler) Zuk, Pauline Baumgartner, Emily Baumgartner and ten great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Lois in the summer.
