Obituary of Joyce L Reznicek (Blanchet)

Joyce L. Reznicek (Blanchet), maiden name O’Connor

Passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020 at Park River Estates Care Center in Coon Rapids. Age 90 (2 weeks short of her 91st birthday).

Joyce was born on June 29, 1929, the youngest of four children (siblings Robert, Shirley, and Jerry) to parents Earl and Esther O’Connor. She grew up in Minneapolis, married Marshall Blanchet in 1947 and became the active mother of six children. She excelled at being a homemaker, and was talented at interior design. She also enjoyed being a volunteer Brownie Leader, part time waitress, and conducting market research for a local marketing firm. Later in her life Joyce volunteered to serve resident meals and set up social events at Epiphany Pines Senior Apartments.

Joyce was an avid MN Twins and Vikings fan, loved playing cards and Bingo, traveling in her RV with second husband Harry (Reznicek), singing and dancing, Wii bowling, and spending time with family.

Preceded in death by her parents and siblings. Survived by children Bruce Blanchet, Bonnie (Kent) Olson, Michael (Sally) Blanchet, Susan (Bart) Grams, William (Bonnie) Blanchet, Lisa (Gary) Getchell, 20 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, special friend Cletus Stifter, and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on TUESDAY, JUNE 23, 2020

VISITATION: 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.

FUNERAL MASS: 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
