Obituary of Tina Lashalla Ham

Tina Lashalla Ham, age 57, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 29, 2020 at home in Duluth, MN, surrounded by her family, after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born March 23rd, 1963 in Birmingham, AL to Thelma Brown. Tina married the love of her life, Cortez Ham Sr., on January 13, 1990 in Chicago, IL, were married for 30 wonderful years and had two loving children, Markeeta and CJ.

Tina wasn’t just a mother, she was the rock of this family; her smile would brighten up any room she was in.

She worked as a certified nursing assistant at Essentia Health where her caring and compassionate personality really shone.

Tina enjoyed many simple pleasures in life including shopping, cooking, and taking pictures, but the thing that brought her the most joy were her six beautiful grandchildren and spending time with her family. Tina was a light in this world and will continued to be known for her loving heart and willingness to help others. She was loved by many.

Tina was preceded in death by her brother, Cedric Bester.

She is survived by her parents, Thelma and Lynn Brown; her brother, James Brown; her husband, Cortez Ham Sr.; children, Markeeta and CJ Ham; and her six grandchildren, Elijah, Emma, Evaya, Ethan, Skylar and Stella.

Due to extenuating circumstances, the funeral will be held with family and close friends. Memorials can be sent to the Ham family.
