Obituary of Raymond Arthur Lofald

Raymond Arthur Lofald, 86, of Hermantown, passed away on January 18, surrounded by family after a short illness.

Ray was born in Hermantown to Millard and Mable Lofald on March 7, 1933. He married Shirley Kaspari on May 22, 1954. Ray served in the Army in Anchorage Alaska and was honorably discharged on July 13, 1956.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Gertie Baliman, Kenneth, Marvin, and Robert Lofald; loving wife Shirley and son Daniel Lofald.

Ray is survived by his daughter Sharon (Jonathan) Anderson; daughter-in-law Susan (Hayes) Lofald; grandchildren Steven (Nicole) Lofald, Kenny (Emily) Lofald, Heather (Jeremiah) Perkins and Travis Anderson, as well as several great-grandchildren; siblings, June O’Brien, Lorna (Ray Potami) Ehardt and Allen (Louise) Lofald.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, January 28 at 10 am at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth, with a visitation beginning at 9 am. A reception to follow.
