Colleen and Ray were such good friends of my parents in the 1970s. My father and Ray were actually business partners for a while. Colleen and my mother were childhood friends in Cameron, Wisconsin in the 1930s! They rekindled their friendship when the Makelas moved Cameron in the late 1960s, I believe. I remember Mom and Colleen often spending evenings cozily on the coach, chatting away, while their husbands would attend an athletic event. Our families often did things together: out to dinner, snowmobiling, a weekend getaway up north. Colleen was a gentle personality with a lovely laugh. My parents, and especially my mother, Glenna, send heartfelt condolences.
