Madalyn Loe

Obituary of Madalyn Ellen Loe

Madalyn Ellen Loe, born 10/31/1935 in Minneapolis, MN and passed away 7/18/2019 in Minnetonka, MN. Preceded in death by parents, Fred and Genevieve Loe; brothers: Thomas, Donald and Frederick Loe and niece, Theresa Smith. Survived by Theresa’s daughters: Cathy, Carrie and Abby; nieces, Mary Loe and Janette Loe; nephews, Christopher and Daniel Loe; grand-nephews; grand-nieces and cousins. Madalyn was a woman of uncommon independence and talent who “did it her way!” Educated at St. Helena’s, Holy Angels Academy and the University of Minnesota. She worked at several jobs, including summers at Glacier and Yellowstone Parks and traveled Europe on her own for a year, driving the infamous French Deuxchevoux minicar. All this before entering the travel planning field with Northwest Airlines, International Milling and Litton Industries. She then followed her dream of design with time at Ethan Allen at the Concord House. Striking out on her own, she spent over 30 years as a successful independent designer before ill health forced an unwanted retirement. We will miss her greatly and offer our deep and heartfelt gratitude to those at Park Nicollet Hospice and the caregivers at Comfort Keepers who lovingly helped her on her final journey. A memorial gathering will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Cremation Society of MN, 7110 France Ave. S., Edina.
