Obituary of Robert Kihne

Robert 'Bob' James Kihne, ( made his last wildly inappropriate, and probably sarcastic remark on November 24, 2018. He was the kind of guy that always had time for a conversation, whether it was to reminisce about years gone by or create new memories. He was born July 14, 1948 as a Democrat, and died on November 24, 2018 as a rather loud-mouthed, outspoken and politically incorrect conservative. His parents were Joseph Richard 'Dick' and Freda G Kihne of Cavalier, ND. Robert passed away after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer caused by agent orange when stationed in Vietnam from 1969-1970 minus 15 minutes from a year, but who was counting. He also served in Japan during his service in the Navy. His oldest son, Christopher was born in March 1984 and Daniel was born in April 1986.  Robert met Barbara Madson (Bjerkness) in 1996. They were married in 1998. They had a son, Brandon born in May 1998. After residing in Cavalier for 2 years, where Bob retired from the City of Cavalier as Public Works Director,  they moved to Foley, MN for 2 years and settled in St Cloud, MN where Bob worked at the New Flyer USA bus plant for 12 years. After retirement, he enjoyed target shooting, taking on his father's interest in guns and shooting sports, he also enjoyed his time reloading, reading, and spending time with family and neighbor friends.  He is survived by his wife, Barbara, 3 sons, Christopher, Grand Forks, ND, Daniel, Grand Forks, ND, Brandon, St Cloud, MN, and 8 grandkids. His brothers, Michael, (Darlene) Sioux Falls, SD, John, (Lois) Mandan, ND, Barney, (Debbie) Cavalier, ND, Mark, (Darlene) Tea, SD. And 2 special dogs, Precious and Chloe.
