Obituary of John Elliott Bradford

John Elliott Bradford of Chaska, MN, formerly of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018. He passed in peace and comfort surrounded by his loving family. He was aided though his journey with cancer by a team of caring medical professionals who added quality to his life and dignity to his death. John is survived by his wife, Cynthia, and their daughters: Jill Baller (Jakob) and Meredith Bradford (Alex Keeney); three grandchildren: James Bradford Baller, Matilda Elizabeth Baller and Bear Bradford Keeney; as well as by his sister, Barbara Bradford Gardner (Randy) of Cincinnati, OH. John was an outstanding musician (French horn) and a beloved teacher/conductor. He taught band in the Rensselear and Tri Creek Schools, but the majority of his career was teaching strings/orchestra in the Merrillville School Corporation. Music and teaching were the joy of John’s life and every student was important to him. A musical remembrance and celebration of John’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 6716 Gleason Road, Edina, MN 55439. Those wishing to remember John as a teacher and musician are encouraged to get out their instrument and practice for 30 minutes, to support their local school music organization, or to donate to the John E Bradford Scholarship Fund for private lessons at Merrillville High School, (276 E 68th Pl Merrillville, IN 46410).
