Obituary of Betty Nelson

Betty J. Nelson, age 74, of Deephaven, passed away peacefully on February 28th, 2018. Preceding her in death were her mother Geraldine Barnes MacAlpine Grzadzinski and father Frank Keith MacAlpine, as well as, her brothers Robert Ford MacAlpine and Daniel Frank MacAlpine. Betty is survived by her husband, John Russell, her children Kimberley Richter (Scott) of Savage, Sherry Nelson of Minnetonka , and John D. Nelson (Harmony) of Plymouth, her grandchildren Amanda and, Richard M. Roser, Sebastian and Jaxon Nelson and her great-grandchild Justin Prosen. Additionally, Betty is survived by her sisters Sue Share and Penny MacAlpine of Mount Clemons, MI and her brother G. Leonard (Len) Grzadzinski of Chesterfield, MI. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 9th, 2018 (visitation at 2:00) at the Edina Chapel, 7110 France Avenue South, Edina, MN. Betty would like you to know that her work here is done. She received an offer she couldn’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus and a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Her new adventure takes her to a wonderful place where she will be cooking, gardening and reading to her heart’s content. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. She left detailed instructions for her husband and children to celebrate her mission here, which has now been completed. Betty would also like to thank her friends and co-workers for their years of support and friendship. Betty’s family would like you to know how blessed we are to have shared our lives with this special woman. Our loss is heaven’s gain.
