Obituary of Ralph W. Harmon

Harmon, Ralph W. age 73, of Lakeville, formerly Robbinsdale, passed away peacefully with family at his side 10/ 27/14 after a long illness. Born in Newport News, VA 2/16/41. Survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Juane (Jo); son Brooks (Rachel); brothers Richard (Debbie) and Robert (Gayle); grandchildren Emily, Benjamin; niece Tammy; nephews Todd, Mark, Matt. Preceded in death by father Hubert N and mother LaVina E (Cannon). Ralph moved frequently as a child before settling in Minnesota. Ralph graduated from the U of M and spent his career in social work for Hennepin County. He made many wonderful friends. In retirement he continued to support some of the children he worked with like family friend Vinny Hart. For years, he was an avid golfer and enjoyed vacationing in northern Minnesota. He rarely turned down dessert and often had a twinkle in his eye when telling a story. Ralph was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend and will be deeply missed by those who knew him. Many thanks for the wonderful care provided by Dr Lehnert, Highview Hills, and St Croix Hospice staff. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Struthers Parkinson's Center or Alzheimer's Foundation of America. Arrangements handled by the Cremation Society of Minnesota. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, November 16, 11:30 AM to 2 PM at the Event Center at Highview Hills, 20150 Highview Ave, Lakeville, MN 55044.
