Obituary of Angelo DeLuca
Angelo DeLuca, age 85, of Duluth, formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 5, 2014.
He was born October 12, 1929 in Duluth to Dominic and Rosalie DeLuca. Angelo was a 1948 graduate of Denfeld High School and attended the University of Minnesota, Duluth until he was drafted into the Army in 1951. He served in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1953. After returning from the service, Angelo completed his education and obtained his degree.
Angelo married Linda Anderson on December 18, 1962.
He began his career as a draftsman with the Minnesota Highway Department. In 1956, Angelo moved to Grand Rapids to become a draftsman with Minnesota Power & Light. He worked there for 35 years, in several different positions, retiring in 1991.
Angelo was a Shriner for many years. He enjoyed bowling on a league and was very proud of his Italian heritage. After retiring he and Linda loved to travel until she became ill.
Angelo was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Linda; their daughter, Karen DeLuca; his parents; brothers, Frank and Phillip; and sisters, Mary DeLuca, Viola Bloom and Jane Nagle.
He is survived by a brother, Sam (Jill) DeLuca of Duluth and sister, Geraldine (Ted) Jones of League City, TX; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
