Obituary of Earl Herrick
Earl J. “Red” Herrick age 90, lifelong resident of Duluth, passed away peacefully at home with his son and daughter-in-law holding his hand.
He was born January 6, 1924 in Duluth to Earl and Phyllis Herrick. Earl was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during W.W.II. He received two Battle Stars for engagements in Okinawa and Leyte Island.
After the war, Earl married Olive May “Tooky” Lequier and together they raised five children.
For several years Earl operated his own janitorial business and later worked for Sears and Roebuck. After retiring from Sears, Earl pursued his love of cars to make ends meet. He and his son Bret restored and sold many Mustangs and Camaros.
Earl loved Model A’s and he helped form the Model A Club of Duluth. He always helped everyone keep their vehicle running.
Earl was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Wilber; his parents; brothers, George and Watson; and a sister, LaVonne Gear.
He is survived by his children, Errol (Sue) of Townsend, MT, Jeff (Pat) of Proctor, William of White Earth, MN and Bret (Aubrey) of Duluth; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; sister, Audrey Olander.
Gathering of family and friends from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Saturday, November 15th at 5169 Samuelson Road, Duluth.
