Obituary of Dorothy Lambert Sullivan McKee

Age 84, passed away Nov 18, 2014. Dorothy was born to Ida (Hess) and Roy Lambert on October 4, 1930 in Des Moines, Iowa. She grew up in Iowa but has also lived in Rhode Island, Oregon, Kentucky, and mostly in Minnesota. She had 2 long marriages (26 years to John, until his death, and 34 years to Mel, until her death). She dearly loved her pet doggies, and always had 1 or 2 dogs in her life. She had many friends at the old Gold Bond Stamps and Honeywell companies in Minnesota. She enjoyed Elvis. She always made funny jokes. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. She died peacefully on hospice, November 18, 2014 in Des Moines, Iowa, of complications from Alzheimer's disease. “Dorothy Lee” was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ida Lambert; her favorite aunt, Madge Hutton, and her husband, John L Sullivan. “Dorie” is survived by her husband, Mel McKee; her brother William Lambert; 3 daughters, Nancy Sullivan, Kerry (Tony) Julian, Kathy (Keith) Phillips; 5 grandchildren, Meagan Phillips, Mike Phillips, John (Joanne) Sullivan, William (Laura) Sullivan, Nick (Heather) Sullivan; niece, Sandy Lambert; nephew, Bill Lambert Jr.; and also step-children, Steven (Paula) McKee, Douglas (Haydee) McKee, Julie (Mark) Rogers, Kathy (Paul) Anderson; and many other beloved family members and friends. Thank you to all who cared for our Mother at the end of her life. She was dearly loved by all those who knew her and will be greatly missed. Interment at the Iowa Veteran’s Cemetery near Des Moines, Iowa. Cremation Society of Minnesota (612-825-2435).
