Obituary of Stanley Frank Cromer
Cromer, Stanley Frank Age 87, of Richfield, MN, passed away Monday, November 17, 2014 of natural causes. Stan was born in Mpls, on August 8, 1927, the fifth of eight children. Preceded in death by parents Martin and Ellen; siblings Catherine, Ruth, Walter, and Howard. Survived by loving wife of 67 years, Madelyn (nee Kimball); daughter Diane (Paul Howe), son Lloyd (Ellen), daughter Marcia (son Tyler), son Gary; grandchildren Jason (Rena), Jonathan (Katie), and Christina; great grandchildren Katie and Lana; siblings Richard, Joyce, and June; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was an Army veteran of World War II (Nov 1945 - Jan 1947) stationed in Ft. Knox and Iceland. Stan was an active volunteer as woodshop foreman for more than 20 years at Creekside Community Center in Bloomington where he enjoyed woodworking and sharing his knowledge. He was a member of Teamster's Local Union 544 while working in the trucking industry and was a shop steward. Stanley enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. As a lover of music, he spent countless hours restoring dozens of old Edison and Victrola phonograph players. A celebration of his life will be held at the Richfield American Legion, 65th St and Portland Ave, on Tues, Dec 2, 2014 from 3-8 PM. There will be a private interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Special thanks to the staff at The Fountains at Hosanna and Fairview Hospice.
