Obituary of Darlene Voelk

Darlene (Fjone) Voelk, 74 of Duluth went to be with her Lord, Friday, March 9th, 2018 while at her home with her loving husband by her side. Darlene was born in Duluth, MN, on August 7, 1943 to Maude and Paul Fjone. She attended Denfeld High School and was a member of Our Savior's Evangelical Lutheran Church. On December 21, 1990, she married Bill Voelk. Darlene enjoyed spending time at the lake in Willow River with good friends and family. She enjoyed watching the birds, crossword puzzles and playing cribbage. Darlene had a determined, honest nature and always believed the best in people. Darlene was preceded in death by her son, Ernie White; her parents; and siblings Dorothy Paulus and Donald Brevrick. She is survived by Bill, her husband of 27 years; children, Colleen (Denny) Padora, Steve (Miriam) White, Lisa (Mike) Helms; grandchildren, Jason (Cammie) Phaller, Katie Erickson, Justin White, Allyson (Trent) Gagner, Jake White, Levi (Taylor) Helms, Brooke Helms; great-grandchildren, Charley Griffin and Dominick Phaller; many nieces and nephews, and several other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank St. Luke's Oncology team and St. Luke's Hospice staff for their amazing care. A gathering of family and friends will be from 10-11 am with a Memorial Service at 11:00 on Tuesday, March 20th at Our Savior's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4831 Grand Ave., Duluth.
