Obituary of Fay Stein-Smestad

Stein-Smestad, Fay Fay, age 60, passed away on Wednesday December 31, 2014, in her Isanti home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by loving family and friends. Fay graduated from Maple Lake High School in 1973 and attended Saint Cloud State and St. Mary's University where she obtained a master's degree in Clinical Social work. Fay retired from Isanti County where she worked as an adult mental health worker for over twenty years. Over the course of her career she helped many people, and thoroughly enjoyed what she did. Fay will be deeply missed by her daughter Makenna Smestad, mother Mary Ferrel, brother Robert Stein, sisters Judy Trapp, Joyce Lemmer, her dog Lola, and many more family and friends. Fay was one of a kind with a heart of gold. There will forever be a void in our lives without her. The celebration of Fay's life will be held on Saturday, January 10th at St Joseph's Catholic Church, 68 Main St., Pierz, MN. Service will be at 10:30 with visitation one hour prior.
