Obituary of Gale Winter
On Feb. 2, 2015, Gale Winter, 67, passed away at her home, surrounded by her husband of 25 years, her daughters and closest friends.
Gale enjoyed camping and was known for having the largest fires at the campground. When friends or family stopped by she loved to share a sippy. She enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, and was very skilled at jewelry making. Gale was always very interested in keeping up with friends, family and neighbors. Most of all, she loved her cats Hazel and Fozzo.
She treasured the time spent with her closest friend of 40 years, Cheri Campy and her husband, Mike.
She always tried to help anyone who needed it. She had a good heart and quirky sense of humor which will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
Gale became president of Graceland Cemetery in 2003 and was still serving at the time of her death. She and Randy took great pride in keeping the grounds and burials beautiful.
Gale is survived by the love of her life, Randy Winter; three daughters, Michelle (Paul) Breemeersch, Kathleen (Rob) Schlichting, and Angelique Blaisdell; two stepsons, Jason (Geri) Winter, and Michael Winter. Eight grandchildren, Adam (Korey) Ross, Nicole (Brett) Uchanski, Alyssa Schlichting, Tate Schlichting, Jason Winter, Savannah Winter, Braiden Winter, and Makayla Wahl. Her sister Suzyn Martin and special friends who were like daughters to her, Carrie Mattson and Mia Androsky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Dorothy Talcott and granddaughter Kira Winter.
Gale did not want a funeral service, but was so excited to be celebrating her 25th wedding anniversary. On Friday, Feb. 6, we will be celebrating Gale and Randy's anniversary as she wished at 3132 E 5th St. at 5pm. Please come help us celebrate their love and share your favorite memory of Gale.
