Obituary of John Stockton Haertel

Haertel, John "Jack" Stockton Passed away March 25. Jack was a lifelong resident of Edina. He was born in Minneapolis July 6, 1927 to Oscar Louis and Mabel Taylor Haertel. He graduated from Shattuck and the University of Minnesota. Professionally, Jack was a securities broker specializing in bonds and a former president of the Twin Cities Bond Club. He was also active in the Minnesota Press Club. Jack loved dogs, sharing his life with Buff, Hobbes, and Mollie, and was an active supporter of the Ramsey County Humane Society. Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Sue Haertel. Surviving family members are his wife, Martha "Marce" Enlund Haertel; daughter, Suzanne Haertel Nichols (John) of Reston, Virginia; grandchildren, Paige (Nichols) Anderson (Marc) of Richmond, VA and Tyler Nichols of Dallas, TX; Marce's sons, Matthew Enlund (Michelle Remer and their daughter, Abigail Fern), Kristofor Enlund (fiancée Kathryn Mitchell) and Jeremy Enlund. There will be a memorial service at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Ave. S., Edina (952-924-4100), Saturday, March 28 at 10:00am with private interment at Lakewood Cemetery. Jack's family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the Animal Humane Society of St. Paul.
