Obituary of Beverly Hill
Hill, Beverly Broback left us peacefully March 27th. She was a woman of distinctive style, class and humor, living every one of her 89 years with an open heart and mind. She accepted everyone as they were, delighting in learning the stories and encouraging the dreams of everyone she met. This "family" grew to learn the importance of her values and principles. She graduated from Southwest High ('44) and Smith College ('48), marrying husband Robert in 1950. Beverly and Robert traveled widely, including seeing 48 states, Canada and Mexico by motorhome. Beverly will be remembered especially at the Bass Lake Cabin, the site which she selected 50 years ago over the vote of her family (she was right!). Beverly lived generously, encouraging her children and grandchildren to pursue their passions, while teaching them to speak up for equality and to respect and be interested in everyone. She was compassionate and inclusive, though never afraid to poke a bit of fun at herself or others with her wit and humor. Preceded in death by her daughter Marcia Hetletvedt, Beverly is survived by husband Robert, brother John Broback, sons Jeffrey (Amy), Scott (Monica), son-in-law Dean Hetletvedt and grandchildren, Alyssa, Cody Hetletvedt (Maria), Katherine, Brooke Hetletvedt, Robert, and Julia. Memorial service at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Minneapolis, on Friday, April 10 at 2:00 pm with gathering to follow. Memorials may be sent to Westminster Presbyterian Church (1200 Marquette Ave, Mpls, MN 55403), Planned Parenthood of MN (PPMNS.org), Faribault Area Hospice (dohospital.com), or Methodist Park Nicollet Hospice (parknicollet.com).
