Obituary of Suzanne M. Ruhnke

Suzanne M. Ruhnke, 85, of Duluth, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2015 in St. Luke’s Hospital. Suzanne was born in Duluth on December 16, 1929 to Francis and Allison (Miller) McKean. She attended schools in Duluth and married Emil Ruhnke in March of 1953 at St. Johns Church in Wrenshall, Minnesota. Suzanne enjoyed raising and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers, the casino, ceramics and bowling. She especially loved spending the summers at the cabin on Round Lake near McGregor. Suzanne will be fondly remembered as the typical Scottish woman. She is preceded in death by her husband Emil; her parents; siblings, Miller, Jean, Lizzy and Andy. Suzanne is survived by her children, Sandy (Al) Palkowski, Ed (Debra), Sheri and Shelly Ruhnke; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister Aggie Turchi and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. The family extends a special thank you to the wonderful staff at St. Luke’s Hospice. Gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 pm until the 3 pm memorial service on Monday, May 11, 2015 in Cremation Society of Minnesota 4100 Grand Ave. Duluth, MN.
