Obituary of Craig Thomas Metzig

Metzig, Craig Thomas Age 52, of Eagan, passed away peacefully May 4, 2015. Preceded in death by grandparents and father, Gene. Survived by loving and caring wife, Ann Koski; sons, Jeremy, Joshua; daughter, Lindsey Behuniak (Tyler); mother, Mary Gensmer; stepfather, Bruce Gensmer; stepmother, Debbie Metzig; brothers, Kevin Metzig (Michelle), Sean Metzig (Denise), Peter Gensmer (Liz), John Mushel (Beth); sister, Tiffany Pellegrino (Mike); aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends. Craig lost his battle with brain cancer after many months. “No one fights alone” was his motto. He served 8 years as a Navy submariner, 8 years in the Army with one tour in Iraq. He was very proud of his service to his country. He was a culinary skills teacher at Hubert Humphrey Job Corps. He loved fishing, enjoyed spending time with Annie and family at the Canadian cabin and Clearwater Lake at his aunt, Diane’s and uncle Dave’s cabin. He especially loved time with his children and his nieces and nephews. He will be missed by so many but he is at peace and his earthly journey is over. He now begins his heavenly journey in Jesus’ glorious kingdom. Memorial service 11 AM Mon., May 11 at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 12650 Johnny Cake Ridge Rd., Apple Valley. Visitation 10 AM. Private interment Fort Snelling. Memorials preferred to the DAV, 20 12th St W #3, St Paul, MN 55155 or Caringbridge.org.
