Obituary of Olga M Lukovsky
Olga M. Lukovsky softly slipped away into the waiting arms of our Father in Heaven and her husband, Alexander, who preceded her in death in 2011.
Born on September 30, 1928, she was the youngest and last surviving child of Sophia and Marco Chumich. One could not have asked for a better daughter, wife , mother, or friend than she was. Although she endured great physical pain most of her adult life with courage and grace, she still managed to be there for those in need with the help of her husband. She was an incredible cook and baker and for years gifted friends with holiday boxes filled with her home made cookies, potica, strudels, and baklava.
She started working at a young age to help her family. One of her earliest jobs was as a dishwasher at age eleven in a Chinese restaurant and was hidden in a closet when authorities came for inspections and her last was as an owner of Carriage House, Inc.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia, special sister-in-law Darlene Lukovsky and Drs. David and Steven Lukovsky and Dr. Lori Lukovsky Norris. She is also survived by her entire Middle River family who showed her and her daughter such kind, loving care and consideration over the past four years. Special thanks to nurses Ann and Pat who took care of her from her first day there until her last and Monica and Tracie. Hospitalized many times during the past four years, she received great care from many of those at Essentia Hospital in Duluth and its swing-bed in Superior and especially from Drs. Prahbu, Kerns, Fox, Lesage, Boyce and Pierpont and Deanna Hughes. Thank you to Kevin, owner of Freedom Transport, for being so kind and careful with her. Thank you, also to, Father Kristijan Petrovich for his many visits and prayers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 16th at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church 1216 104th Ave W. Duluth. Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. at the church until the time of the service. A committal service will be held Monday, May 18th at Forest Hill Cemetery. First Memorial Chapel assisted the Lukovsky family with arrangements.
To my Mother and Father, I love you more than its humanly possible to measure. I miss you more than its humanly possible to measure. I wish you were with me every day forever and ever more than its humanly possible to measure. Love Patty
