Obituary of Princess Jean Myers

Princess Jean Allen Myers died peacefully on October 31, 2025, at the age of 91 at Amira Choice Bloomington, MN.

Born February 24, 1934 in Hope, Arkansas, she was the 12th child of Alma Beatrice Smith Allen and James Gordon “Bud” Allen

Princess Jean earned a Nursing Degree from Arkansas Baptist Hospital In Little Rock. While there, she also met and married Warren Myers, the love of her life, with whom she moved to Fargo, ND, Plattsburgh, NY, Albany, GA and Milwaukee, WI before settling in Eden Prairie, MN in 1966, where she raised her two children, Lisa and Jim. But family life was not all that was ahead for Jean.

With a dear friend, she opened the first day care center and nursery school in Eden Prairie, ABC Day Nursery, and ran it for 25 years, then opened an upscale women's clothing store, Rae Jean, in Eden Prairie Mall, hosting fashion shows and dressing many Eden Prairie friends in style.

Widowhood at a young age was a huge blow, but not for long. She picked up the pieces and kept on volunteering, holding leadership roles in Eden Prairie Lioness Club, EP Optimist Club (if you bought a Christmas tree at their lot, you probably met her in her big down coat), Eden Prairie Foundation, and overseeing hospitality at Eden Prairie United Methodist Church for 30 years.

Her favorite role was “Granny Nanny,” taking care of her three grandchildren, Heather, Justine and Eric in their preschool years and beyond. She was also the go-to dog-sitter for numerous friends, family and neighbors at "Jean's Dump-a-Dawg." And there was always time for travel adventures and mischief around the world with her best buddy, Willie Emry, Lioness friends and her daughter, Lisa. She loved to garden and created the Eden Prairie Garden Tour to honor beautiful gardens across the city.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Warren Lee Myers, and 11 brothers and sisters.

Jean is survived by her children, Lisa Myers and Jim Myers (Theresa “Terri”), her grandchildren, Heather Myers, Justine Myers and Eric Myers and many nieces and nephews.
