Obituary of Douglas Hans Eng
Douglas Hans Eng of Duluth, 67, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016, in St. Luke's Hospital after complications with pneumonia.
Doug was born on Dec. 17, 1948, in Duluth, to Lois and Hans Eng, the second of four children.
After graduating from Central High School in 1967, Doug served in the Army in the Vietnam War from 1968-70 earning many medals including two bronze stars and a purple heart. In 1971, he married his best friend, Debbie Hanninen. He retired from United Pipeline in 2006.
Doug was a very kind and caring man who enjoyed many outdoor activities, especially fishing. He was also an avid reader.
Doug was preceded in death by his mother, Lois and daughter, Jodee.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Eng (Hanninen); daughter, Melissa (Brent) Marconett; father, Hans Eng; brother, David Eng; sisters, Susan (Pat) Sage and Linda Eng; grandson, Denon Perrin, his pride and joy and his puppy, Boo.
VISITATION: 2:30 p.m. and Celebration of Life service at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016 in the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth, MN 55807. Fellowship to follow.
