Obituary of Ardell Elaine Peterson

Ardell Elaine (Anderson) Peterson, 65, of Hermantown passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Monday, Aug. 1, 2016. She was born on June 2, 1951, in Cloquet to Everett and Alice (Nord) Anderson. Ardell graduated from Central High School in 1969, she continued her education at Berean Bible College and studied Marketing and Management at the Duluth Area Institute of Technology, graduating in 1972. She worked for St. Louis County for 28 years and cared for her mother until she passed away in 2008. Ardell married George Peterson on June 13, 1998 in Duluth Gospel Tabernacle. Ardell became a member and supporter of Grace Lutheran Church. Ardell enjoyed traveling, visiting many relatives and friends in the United States, as well as taking trips abroad to Europe, Mexico and the Bahamas. Ardell also enjoyed many Minnesota camping trips with her mother. Some of her other hobbies included reading, music and puzzles. Ardell was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Alice (Nord) Anderson; her sister, Audrey (Anderson) Johnson; and her nephew, Michael Sadler. She is survived by her husband, George Peterson; her brothers, Arden (Ardis) Anderson and Alan Anderson; her sister-in-law, Carol (Roger) Shafie; her brothers-in-law, Melvin (Laura) Peterson and Ricky Johnson; her nephew, Adam (Jennifer) Anderson; her niece, Alicia (Antonio) Oceguera; and numerous extended family and friends. GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FAMILY: 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 13, 2016 at the SNO Flyers hall in Tamarack, Minn. Internment at the Sheriff Lake Cemetery will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ardells name to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choosing.
