Obituary of Lindy Kermit Moen
Moen, Lindy Kermit, age 89, was born on June 5, 1927 -- the same year Charles Lindberg made his historic solo non-stop flight to Paris. Lindy passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Carrie Moen, brother, Joseph, and sister, Edna Hatlestad. He is survived by sister, Neomie Reishus, and several nieces and nephews. Lindy was born and raised in Kidder, South Dakota and attended school there. In his senior year, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy and was in training when WW II ended. He moved to Minneapolis, where he met and married Velva Linder. They were very active for several years in the Morris Park Singers of Mpls. They lived in Bloomington and Lindy was employed by the Bloomington School System in the transportation department. After Velva passed away, Lindy met and married Donna Heisler, and they moved to a beautiful home on Big Pine Lake near Perham, MN, where they spent many happy years. In their later years they moved to the Frazee Care Center in Frazee, MN, where they both received excellent care. When Donna passed away, Lindy continued to live there until his death. Lindy was a proud Norwegian who enjoyed music, travel, and outdoor activities. He was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor, a quick wit, an infectious laugh, a strong faith, and the love of family, many friends, and dogs of any kind. Lindy’s memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, August 26th at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Ave So, Edina, MN. Visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will be at Pleasant View Memorial Gardens in Burnsville, MN.
