Obituary of Steven Anderson

Steven "Bear" Anderson, 61, passed away peacefully at his Duluth home, surrounded by family and friends. Steve was born Sept. 13, 1954, in Duluth to Helge and Geane Anderson. A 1972 graduate of Duluth Central, he went on to get a welding degree from Duluth Area Vocational Technical Institute. He then went on to secure employment with Marine Iron, Reach All and Northshore Manufacturing. Steve retired from Northshore Manufacturing after working 18 years side-by-side with his brother John Anderson. Early in Steve's life, he enjoyed bowling, playing softball with his friends and being a part of the "pit crew" for his buddies that raced stock cars. Throughout his life, he enjoyed spending time with his family, watching Yankees and Twins baseball games and Vikings football. Preceded in death by his grandparents; parents Helge and Geane Anderson; and brother-in-law Richie Wrazidlo. Survived by; Wife Debra Anderson, son Chris Gamst and children, son Bob (Lori) Anderson and children Emalee and Nolan, Daughter Karli Anderson, brother John (Sharon) Anderson, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A heartfelt thank you to St. Croix Hospice, Cremation Society of Minnesota, Rita Holler and his many friends for taking this last journey of life with him. A CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 at Duluth Elks Lodge, number 133, at 4250 Haines Rd in Duluth. Cremation services handled by Cremation Society of Minnesota.
