Obituary of George Vincent Bonicatto
George Vincent Bonicatto, 91, of Hibbing, passed away peacefully on Aug. 25, 2016, in Duluth surrounded by his children.
He was born in Hibbing on July 18, 1925 to John and Margherita Bonicatto.
George served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II, earning two Purple Hearts. He worked for the Arthur G McKee Engineering Company in Hibbing until his retirement.
He spent his 30 plus years of retirement golfing, bowling and spending time with friends.
His home was filled with love, music and laughter, which carries on through those who survive him.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Seme (Frank); his brother, Michael Bonicatto (Donna); his wife, Colleen (Des Rosier); and his longtime companion, Rose Pocrnich.
He is survived by his sister, Delores Rolle (Richard); his children, Michele Des Rosier, Dede Krauth (Jeff), Bruce Bonicatto (Gail), Damian Bonicatto (Patty), Carrie Reineccius (Greg), Daniel Bonicatto (Hannah) and Siri Stolhammer (Kraig); many grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Beverly Brown.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 3, at his home according to his wishes. A private burial service will be held for his family. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests a donation to your favorite charity.
