Obituary of Gerald W Szymczak
Gerald W. Szymczak, 67, of Duluth, passed away unexpectedly at home Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, from heart disease.
Jerry was born July 28, 1949, in Duluth to Joseph and Ruth Szymczak.
He was a 1968 graduate of Duluth Central High School. He spent several years as a Manager of Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants throughout Minnesota, as well as the Little Store in Esko/Thomson. Jerry spent a few years as an over the road truck driver for Monson Trucking and dabbled in the heating and plumbing industry with Northern Heating and Plumbing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ruth; and sister, Dianne Manaske.
Jerry is survived by his two sons, Jay (Teri) Szymczak of Cloquet and Jeff (Renee) Szymczak of Mayer, Minn.; five grandchildren, T.J., Rayonna, Taylor, Jeffrey and Lexi; three brothers, Don (Marilyn) Szymczak, Fred (Karen) Szymczak, Bob (Micki) Szymczak; and sister, Susie Makitalo, all of Duluth. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
