Obituary of Dean Constantine
Dean Constantine passed away September 23, 2016 at the age of 86 due to complications from a fall. He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Mary, and his four children, Linda, Chrysana, Robert, Deanna, and 6 grandchildren - Sophia, Marissa, Nikolas, Mitchell, Marley, and Michael. He was preceded in death by sisters MaryAnn and Eva Constantine. Dean was born in Sioux Falls, SD on Sept 14, 1930 to George and Chrysa Constantine. He graduated from the University of Minnesota where he studied business and played on the tennis team. Dean and Mary met while teachers at a Mpls. dance studio, and married in 1958. They later began their own dance business, teaching independently in the Twin Cities area for over 55 years. Dean specialized in group classes and estimated that he had taught over 100,000 students to dance. In the 60's Dean owned the King Solomon's Mines nightclub, located in the Foshay Tower, where he gave a number of bands their start in the music industry. He was a competitive tennis and racquet-ball player. Dean was kind, gentle, and generous and touched so many lives during his time here. He will be greatly missed and will forever remain in our hearts and thoughts. We love you dear Dean. Rest in peace until we meet again. There will be no formal services. A celebration of his life will be planned for a later date. Memorials preferred to your favorite charity.
