Obituary of Frances Lundgren
Frances “Tootie” Lundgren, 74 of Hermantown, MN, lost her 10-month battle with lung and metastatic brain cancer on September 25, 2016. She was Born the 7th child of Delores (Hubbartt) Peterson and Albin Peterson on November 17, 1941 in Duluth, MN. Her childhood included time in the Bethany Children’s home, logging camp in Isabella and on the old north shore. School years were at Bloomingdale and Clover Valley schools where she graduated in 1960. She worked at the Lake View Castle, Fish Fry Lodge, Johnson’s Drive Inn and St. Luke’s Hospital. She met her “one and only” Jack at Johnson’s Drive Inn where she was a waitress in 1955.
She retired after 33 years from Chris Jensen, Cook Home, and May Morrow where she worked in the activities department. Over the years she enjoyed spending time with family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and friends. As well as fishing, being with her cats, watching the birds and hummingbirds and going to garage sales. She enjoyed long drives in the country with her husband as well as riding in their restored vintage automobiles.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years Jack Lundgren of Hermantown, MN and daughters Jayn (Jim) Pohl of Hermantown, and Jeyn (Blake) Monkman of Cottage Grove, MN. Grandchildren Jessalyn (Paul) Savord of Boiling Springs, PA, Katlyn Brown of Concord, NC, Loni (Branden Bishop) Brown of Rice Lake, MN, Aaron Kajander of Maple Grove, MN, Great Grandchildren Riley and Olivia Savord of Boiling Springs, PA and Quinn and Halle Houchins of Becida, MN, Siblings Joan Glaeser of Manitowoc, WI and Delbert (Susan) Hubbartt of Knife River, MN. Special Nephews David (Kathy) Lundgren of Munger, MN, and Jerry (Brenda) Lundgren of Canosia Township, MN, as well as a very large extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents Albin and Delores Peterson, family members Norma and John Wood, Billy Hubbartt, Dick Hubbartt, Ronald Hubbartt. As well as Helen and Ovia Lappi, Jim Lundgren, Julie Lundgren and Jana Ierino.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 11am to 2pm at the Grand Lake Township Community Center (Twig Town Hall) Located at the corner of Highway 53 and Industrial Road.
