Obituary of Elizabeth Fisk
Elizabeth "Betty" Fisk passed away Oct. 13, 2016, in Duluth, after a courageous, grueling, 12-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. It was always her greatest fear, yet she bore it with as much grace and dignity as that awful disease allowed her.
Betty was born to Georgianna and Clement Netzel June 27, 1929, in Duluth. She attended high school in Michigan and returned to Duluth a few years later to marry and raise her four children. She was a wonderful, hands-on mother and had many interests and activities. She was an amazing cook (we'd all give anything for one more meal of her famous chicken salad) and an avid and talented crafter. Her woodcarvings were especially beautiful.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Alden Netzel; sister Mary Bildstein; and son Matthew Fisk.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Montgomery; sons John (Kim) Fisk and Michael (Dana) Fisk; grandchildren Rachel Loken, Shane Fisk, Chans Fisk, Eric Fisk and Joseph Fisk; great-grandchildren Zane (Katie) Rogers, James Rogers and Elias Rogers; and great-great-grandson Kasimir Rogers.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the wonderful, caring staff at the Benedictine Health Center, Safe Harbor Unit.
MEMORIAL GATHERING: 9 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, in the Cremation Society, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth.
