Obituary of Myrna Raye Bordeau

Myrna Raye Bordeau, age 75, of St. Louis Park MN, passed away on October 14, 2016, due to complications from kidney cancer. A memorial gathering to commemorate Myrna’s life will be held on November 5th at the Cremation Society of Minnesota in Edina. It is an ‘open house style’ gathering from 2-4 pm to celebrate her life. It is located at 7110 France Ave S, Edina, MN 55435. Myrna was a long time resident of St. Louis Park. She attended St. Louis Park and Wayzata High School. She was the first one her in family to attend college, graduating in 1963 from St. Cloud State University. Myrna married Roger Bordeau in 1963, and they were married for 44 years. Roger passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2007. Myrna worked as an elementary teacher and a stay at home mom. She also helped with the family business and later worked for the Hennepin County Library System for almost 20 years. Myrna loved her cats, romance novels and her family fiercely. Myrna played a huge role in the lives of her grandchildren because they were her entire world. Over the years, Myrna enjoyed traveling with her children and grandchildren. In recent years she traveled to Hawaii, Jamaica, Singapore, China, Australia and enjoyed several Caribbean cruises. Myrna also loved going to the family cabin on Upper Red Lake. Myrna is survived by children Steve and Suzy, son in law Josh, grandchildren Lucas, Ariel, Cody and Caitlin, her sisters Joanne Thurk, Judy Hultman and Dar Jonak, her beloved cats Fred and Jack, plus many other family members and friends. Myrna is preceded in death by her husband Roger, Brother Rick Bartole, brother in-law Dale Hultman, brother in-law Jerry Bordeau, her in-laws Leonissa and Gerald Bordeau, her parents Elaine and Joe Bartole and Tricksy the cat. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation. The family of Myrna Bordeau wishes to thank the wonderful nurses of Methodist Hospital who cared lovingly for Myrna in her final days.
