Obituary of Robert James Thompson

Thompson, Robert James Age 69 of Eagan, passed away October 16, 2016 of mesothe- lioma. Survived by wife, Kathy; brother, Dennis; son, Adam (Amanda) and daughter, Joy; stepchildren, Kristin and Joshua; grandchildren and step grandchildren; and lifelong friends, "the Kwampers". The first chapter of Bob and Kathy's love story opened decades ago. They were sweethearts at Robbinsdale High School. College separated them, and they both married others and raised families. Reunited 40 years later, they finally married. Their marriage was full of laughter and caring, and was cut too short by cancer. Bob had many vocations: high school teacher and drama coach, anti-war activist, minister in Taiwan, tradesman and entrepreneur, retail foods, among others. Memorial service Sunday, November 13 at 4 PM at Cremation Society of MN, 4343 Nicollet Avenue So. 612-825-2435. Visitation one hour prior to service. Memorials preferred to St. Paul Magic, Special Olympics MN.
