Obituary of Steven Wayne Heskin

Steven Wayne Heskin, 65, of Duluth, Minn. passed away on Dec. 20, 2016 from complications from dementia at Unity Hospital in Fridley, Minn. Steven was born in Mayville, N.D. on Oct. 31, 1951 to Harold and Clara (Nelson) Heskin. He graduated from Denfeld High School, Class of 1969. Steven worked on the DM&IR Railway for a number of years before attending and graduating from UMD. Later on he worked for Midwest Patrol, and lastly the Great Lakes Aquarium. Steven enjoyed country music and was a big fan of Sammy's Pizza. Most of all, he enjoyed the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary Mundle and Joanie Heskin. Steven is survived by his daughters Sarah (Derek) Misiewicz of Hermantown, Minn., and Julie (Sean) Spencer of Zagreb, Croatia; son Paul Heskin of Fargo, N.D.; grandchildren Bryan Spencer and Alec and Paxtyn Misiewicz; eight siblings; former wife and friend Diane Caskey; and many extended family members. The family extends a special thank-you to the staff at Unity Hospital for the care they provided Steven during his stay.
