Obituary of Roger Loren Johnson

Roger Loren Johnson, 64, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Duluth, MN on February 3, 2020. He is the son of Dorothy L. and Harvey L. Johnson, and loving husband of Chong Hui Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother-in-law A.D, and survived by children, Duane (Erica) Johnson and Victoria (Todd) Baker; sisters, Hazel (A.D.) Joyal and Mona (Bill) Cheslak; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Roger traveled the world with the U.S. Army and while stationed in South Korea he met his wife of twenty-two years. In time, he passionately served as Student Life Director at Lake Superior College where he retired. Roger will be remembered as a supportive and caring man who respected the military and valued education.

A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. and military honors will be completed by the Duluth Honor Guard, Thursday, February 13th at St. Benedict Church of Duluth, 1419 St. Benedict Street.
